Major flood emergency grips Queensland and parts of northern NSW; Woman found dead in Lismore home; Flood-affected NSW LGAs declared disaster zones

The small village of Tumbulgum in northern NSW hasn’t escaped being hit by the severe flooding sweeping across parts of the state.

An evacuation order was put in place just after 9am on Sunday for the town’s 349 residents.

And an evacuation centre has been set up by the Salvation Army at Banora Point.

Emergency services expect severe flooding to continue hitting the town.
