Meet 5 emerging designers who are shaping the future of sustainable fashion in South Africa


The French Institute of South Africa and the Goethe-Institut South Africa have joined forces on the ‘True Fashion, Try on Green’ programme. It champions five emerging designers shaping the future of sustainable South African fashion with the support of the Franco-German Cultural Fund.

These are the conscious creatives on our radar.

KHUMO MOROJELE

“I applied after I saw the programme promoted on Lukhanyo Mdingi’s Instagram. It tackles prevalent issues in the fashion industry and our everyday lives.”

BURTON MILES

“I’ve learnt new skills and crafts. It’s helped me solidify what I want to do following university, and I’m grateful for that.”

“This workshop empowers creative minds by instilling sustainable, ethical behaviours that benefit the fashion industry and the world.”
