Here are the nominees for the The Columbian 2022-23 Week 2 high school athlete of the week.
Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.
Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
To avoid vote manipulation, voters must provide an email address. Votes are limited to one per day per email address.
Here are the nominees:
ADRIANNE AGBAYANI, EVERGREEN GIRLS SOCCER: Agbayani had two goals and assist in both wins over Fort Vancouver and Heritage.
AIDAN BUCERZAN, SKYVIEW BOYS TENNIS: Bucerzan posted a pair of straight-set wins and rallied for a 0-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Mountain View’s Kevin Kim.
CAMPBELL DERINGER, CAMAS GIRLS SWIMMING: Deringer was the top point-scorer at the Mark Morris Sprint Pentathlon, winning the 200 IM, 25 freestyle and 25 breaststroke.
LAUREN DREVES, COLUMBIA RIVER VOLLEYBALL: Dreves had 19 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Skyview, 17 kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Ridgefield, and six kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over Washougal.
DANE HUDDLESTON, WOODLAND BOYS GOLF: Huddleston shot a 1-under 34 and a 2-under 33 in two matches at Lewis River Golf Course.
