Starc very close to unplayable when he’s reversing it like this…
Tipping this will be full and fast and right on the stumps. It’s reversing as well out there.
Starc on his way to the right-handed Rizwan… it’s quick… just misses the edge. Probably the best ball of the lot and he had no idea, swung in, went away, crisp. What an over from Mitchell Starc.
Brilliant bowling from the Australian! Carnage in Karachi! Full, fast, swung in late and that has smashed him on the bottom of the front pad. It’s been reviewed… has it done too much? That’s spot on. See you later Fawad and he is gone for a golden duck. It’s 4-60. Starc on a hat-trick…
Azhar Ali is gone for 14, Pakistan 3/60 and he would be keen to have that one over again. Chased a wide full ball and collects a very meaty edge to Green in the slips. Silly stuff but good work from Starc, he has piled on the pressure so they went after the looser delivery and paid the price. Fawad Alam to the crease.
Very clear tactics from the big left-armer. And just as I write that, he bangs in a stinker of a bouncer that goes past Carey and races to the fence. I’ll keep quiet for a while.
Cummins likes this… not out is the call but they have no hesitation in sending it upstairs. Bat first I reckon, yes that’s the case, same time at very least. And that’s the decision, not out, one review down the can for the Australians. Babar survives and gets off the mark next ball with a little flick down the leg side.
The off-spinner strikes right after lunch. Imam Ul-Haq tries to get down the track but succeeds only in clouting it to Pat Cummins and it’s 2-45 in Karachi.
Australia make their own luck with a fabulous run out in the first session but no bowler has taken a wicket in the last 100 overs of this series. That’s a big concern. Swepson has been reasonable in his first spell. His pace is good and he’ll be encouraged that Pakistan’s batters are happy to dance down the track to him.
Swepson will be aiming to take advantage of any inconsistent bounce. It’s about getting in the grind now. Wickets will be hard to come by and those chances can’t be put down when they present themselves.
