Unexploded ordnance recovered on Godwin Boulevard – The Suffolk Information-Herald

Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the 3500 block of Godwin Boulevard on Thursday relating to a report of an unexploded ordnance discovered by a contractor within the space, in accordance with a metropolis press launch.

Emergency Communications was notified of the incident at 2:11 p.m.

Fire Marshal Chris Cornwell mentioned that the Virginia State Police Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to the scene to gather and take away the merchandise for additional analysis. It is believed that the merchandise was an inert munition spherical which was initially situated a couple of half mile off the roadway at this location. No one was injured within the incident.
